Candle warmer guide
How to remove wax from a candle warmer
Let the unit cool completely, then warm the wax just enough to loosen it. Use a plastic scraper or a cloth, not a sharp metal tool. Follow the manufacturer's cleaning instructions and never scrape a hot bulb or shade.
Let it cool
Unplug the warmer and wait until the shade, bulb, and base are cool to the touch. Hot wax can burn, and a cold jar can crack if you shock it with heat. Work on a protected surface.
Loosen the wax
If the wax is in a jar, warm the jar slightly in a sink of warm water, then slide a plastic scraper under the edge. If wax is on the base or shade, let it harden and lift it with a plastic tool. Do not use a knife, and do not pry against the glass.
Clean the glass
Use a soft cloth and a mild cleaner that the manufacturer allows. Avoid abrasive pads and solvents on painted or wood finishes. Test any cleaner on a small hidden area first.
