Candle warmer guide
Do candle warmers smell as strong?
Scent throw depends on the wax, fragrance load, pool size, and room. A warmer releases fragrance without smoke; some people find it cleaner, some find it softer. It is not automatically stronger or weaker than a flame.
How scent releases
Fragrance oil sits in the wax. Heat releases it into the air. A flame concentrates heat at the wick; a warmer spreads heat across the top of the jar. The warmer can produce a wider melt pool, which can release scent more evenly, but the total strength still depends on the candle.
Pool size and room
A full melt pool exposes more wax to heat, which usually means more scent. A small room, closed door, and a candle with a strong fragrance load will feel stronger than a large open room. If the scent is weak, check the pool size before blaming the warmer.
Candle quality
Fragrance load, wax type, and cure time matter. A cheap candle with little fragrance will not become strong in a warmer. A well-made candle can perform well in either a flame or a warmer. Buy from a maker that lists the wax and fragrance.
FAQ
Do I need a stronger candle?
Maybe. If the pool is full and the room is small, a candle with a higher fragrance load may help. Start with a full melt pool before changing candles.
Does the warmer burn off the fragrance?
There is no flame, but heat still releases and eventually depletes fragrance. That is normal for any candle.
Why does the scent fade after a while?
Fragrance fades as the oils are released and the wax is used. Rotate candles and run the warmer for shorter sessions if you want the scent to last longer.
